This policy explains what information Claruno ("we", "us") collects when you use the app, why, and how it's handled. "You" means anyone using Claruno, including students, parents, and teachers.
Claruno works without an account for a single check. Creating an account (email/password or "Continue with Google") unlocks history, lessons, and the dashboard, and involves more data:
We do not knowingly collect more than what's listed above, and we don't run advertising trackers or sell data to third parties.
A photo you check is sent to our server, which forwards it to Anthropic's Claude API to be read and evaluated — Anthropic processes it as a data processor on our behalf and does not use it to identify you. The image and the AI's response are then saved to your account's history (as a compressed thumbnail, with the mark it drew baked in) so you can look back at it later. You can't currently delete an individual history entry from the app itself; contact us (below) to request deletion.
Camera captures try to exclude anything besides the paper itself, but nothing automatically detects or removes a hand, background, or other people who happen to be in frame — please keep the camera pointed only at your own written work.
No payment or billing information is collected — Claruno does not currently charge for anything.
Claruno is not directed at, and does not knowingly collect personal information from, children under 13. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 13, a parent, guardian, or school should create and manage the account on your behalf. If we learn we've collected information from a child under 13 without the appropriate consent, we'll delete it.
If how Claruno handles data changes meaningfully, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
